Unfortunately after such funny news (A German circus director on the run with his elephant), such a sad news, the death of 7 astronauts. It is a sad day, for the death of those astronauts;
It would be naive to think now that space flights are not safe anymore: they never were!!
Many people don't realize that
1) Computers, airplanes, wings, all these things are man-made; so they are not perfect and can break.
2) Space flights, no matter what NASA people tell you, have still a high experimental component, with always a high risk of failure associated with it. Think about that today, even normal airplanes still crash for pure technical reason.
