and please send me a couple of Anna's burrito (Super Steak)...

I don't know why, but I can just picture Casey saying "Maybe he had somewhere to go" and then a few minutes of silence ....

Yes, I'm really close to Germany, ~10 miles from the center of the city.

Tuesday, April 29, 2003

Maiko, yeah that was I. I didn't stop because the road in question has nowhere to stop on unless you block traffic. People get mad at you if you block traffic. I don't like making people mad at me.

And I was going to Anna's for a Super Chicken. Mmmmmm.

Well, considering that fresh spring rolls at Pho is in Boston and not Toronto, you can still have all those things in Boston! Come o~n. Just hop on the plane! We'll still act surprised for you.

Pho is good, thogh I think their fresh spring roll is getting smaller and smaller over the years. Is it just my imagination?

G, how's your Dutch improving by the way? BTW are you really close to Germany?

MC Hammer, was that you the other day on Allston Street honking at me? I didn't recognize you with you fancy new (looking) white car! I asked Casey why you didn't stop if it was you, and he replied "Maybe he had somewhere to go". Good point.

hum... I guess that was the wrong subject to talk about...

ANYWAY, MC (Mike Cutillo, not Maiko Callister) gets the Oscar for best perfomance [the (in)famous kisses at the 70s party!]

ANYWAY, like last year, this year I was going to surprise you again, showing up in Boston in mid-May, after partecipating at the main conference in my field. I bought the tickets in March... everything seemed OK with the plan...

....unfortunately the conference was scheduled in Toronto, so last week they announce that it was cancelled...

So no surprise, no fresh spring rolls at Pho, to buffalo wings at Sunset, no burritos at Anna .... f*&$%

I hear that M worships porcelain god.
The noise she makes is the prayer for god.
Actually, the hugging the toilet night must have been the same night as Evil Tequilla night.
She was on a mission....
M also told me that she remembers someone pushing the shopping cart with her inside it really really fast. It seemed like a good idea at the time to her. Next thing you know, she was on the ground and she has no memory of falling.

Oh... I just remembered. G's talking about the 70's night with the Chianti, aren't you!
Ha ha, Oops. No need to dig holes here.

Not to change the subject or anything, but AM must have had about 30 people in her room trying to see whether she's ok, or just to see if she'll do anything interesting.

Hmm. There must be something about you guys...
I just can't think of one right now.
Oh, I remember. Who was kissing who on the 70's night?
If you remember, you're the winner!!!

Ha!!! That's right, MC Hammer!!

Or Ann passed out on the floor of the 3rd floor bathroom with the door locked.

I'm back!

I had good time and good food in Italy.... Actually we just spent most of the time eating and drinking. For those of you who are wine lovers, I can tell you we had a "Brunello di Montalcino", which is like Chianti, but much better, and Barbera.

In vino veritas

that is, when you get drunk, the real and true part of yourself come out....

Hey guys, remember M..... hugging the toilet??

Thanks guys!

For my birthday, I was able to arrange a great weather, sunny, in the 70s, just perfect. Now I'm off to Italy for 10 day, to spend Eastern with my family.
Could you write here for me some sentence while I'm away?

Happy Birthday G!

Did you have to shovel snow today?

So I guess as of today you are even more clearly on the "dreamers" side of that divide, eh? Happy birthday G!

This reminded me of our 53 Brentwood neighbourhood...

From The Washington Post.

… There is too much disputation around Christmas anyway. One growing issue is the white vs. colored lights debate. Like all matters of taste, this is also a matter of class. White lights are high-class; colored lights are somewhat less so.
White lights make the statement that one is a refined sort who appreciates that less is more and who celebrates Christmas (and life in general) in such a fashion that one would not be absolutely mortified if Martha Stewart dropped by unexpectedly for tea. Colored lights make the statement that one is the sort of person who believes that Christmas is not Christmas without an electric sled and reindeer on the lawn, an electric Santa on the roof, an electric Frosty by the front gate and an electric Very Special Person in a manger on the porch.
Most of the houses in my neighborhood are white-light houses, and I have to admit they are lovely, but I was raised in a colored-light family, and I am raising Tom and Jack to be colored-light men too. They do not take a lot of convincing on this. Boys are naturally colored-lighters.

Michael Kelly, who died Friday while covering the war in Iraq, wrote a weekly column for this page. Editorial published Dec. 12, 2001.

Happy birthday Mike! Damn. The big 3-oh. Welcome to the club, and remember, it's okay to be tired and in bed before 11. Mostly.

30 feels cold and slushy. That is because I am in West Islip and there is 4 inches of snow.

Random Friend: "Mike, what did you get for your birthday?"

Mike: "I got snow. 4 inches of it."

Random Friend: "In April? Man that sucks."

Mike: "Tell me about it."

Darn! G beat me to it. But anyway, happy birthday Mike!!! How does it feel to have attained the big 30? I wish I could tease you more but being 30 myself, all I can say is welcome to the old folks' club.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MIKE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU !!!!!

From The Washington Post .

Michael Kelly, the Atlantic Monthly editor-at-large and Washington Post columnist who abandoned the safety of editorial offices to cover the war in Iraq, was killed while traveling with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division.

I am Catholic and my wife is Jewish, so in our house we celebrate both Hanukah and Christmas, which our sons, Tom and Jack, regard as an excellent thing. People sometimes ask me if it is hard to raise children in respect and love for two great faiths that have a slight doctrinal disagreement between them, and I say: Not if you give them presents every day for eight days of Hanukah and for Christmas. The more Gods, the merrier is Tom and Jack's strong belief.

The Onion tells the truth way better than CNN, believe me.

I wanted to add my now middle-name, but I don't want the whole world to know my whole name!

You can go back to Italy if you don't like my new name.
...
...I like my previous name too. :-(
Should I change back to my old name (at least on the blog)??????????

Ok, my fault that I asked what TVbabe is. What are they saying about Vivian on TVbabe?
Why is it so hard to get any information out of this guy Gambarota?
Oh, I know. You have no idea what it says, do you? You reall really have noooooo idea what it says.
