"Only when I laugh, does it hurt."
The doctor says, "Please, son, remove your skirt."
"I'd be glad to comply, but I'm not wearing one."
The doctor says, "That's strange, nor am I."

You'll conquer the present
suspiciously fast
if you smell of the future
- and stink of the past.

"When you think you can, the frogs will find a way to stop you, and you won't." - Bobo the Monkey

Oh, you mean: think about when you know you can, you will, and when you think you can't, you won't think about when you know you won't unless you really can ?

I said that once to Hamid while we were playing chess in Alcatraz. For some unknown reason, as I finished that sentence, Bunjeejumpy looked at me with a smirk on his face, kicked hard Hamid in the lower back and ran away. Strange dude, that Hamid.

Don't watch Fox News. The more you watch, the more you'll get things wrong.

Researchers from the Program on International Policy Attitudes (a joint project of several academic centers, some of them based at the University of Maryland) and Knowledge Networks, a California-based polling firm, discovered that:

48 percent of Americans believed that the United States had uncovered evidence demonstrating a close working relationship between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda.

22 percent thought that we had found the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

25 percent said that most people in other countries had backed the U.S. war against Saddam Hussein.

The researchers then asked where the respondents most commonly went to get their news. The survey concluded that " Fox was the news source whose viewers had the most misperceptions."

In front of my office window there are a couple of trees which display an amazing foliage. Bright red, which is even brighter in this Dutch gray sky.

Wow!!! I'm missing all the action too.

But it looks like that this time, finally, the Red Sox will win the Stanley Cup.

OK. I was FREAKING OUT last night watching the game! What a game! What a series! I mean, WHAT A SERIES! Now it's off to New York to try and slay the real dragon. I'm tempted to go down to NYC myself and try to get some tickets (they're going for $500-600 up here - for bleacher seats!). I love October.......baseball playoffs, pumpkin beer.......stuff.

Thank God.

Sox vs Yankees, one step closer to the Sox vs the Cubs.

Goddamn Sox.

11 pitches and 2 walks. Great.

They better win it.

Whenever you're called on to make up your mind,
and you're hampered by not having any,
the best way to solve the dilemma, you'll find,
is simply by spinning a penny.
No - not so that chance shall decide the affair
while you're passively standing there moping;
but the moment the penny is up in the air,
you suddenly know what you're hoping.

Piet Hein.

Oh, guys, thanks so much for the enlightenment about this things, how do you call them... oh yeah SPERMA links.

Anyway, I finally got out of jail, but I still miss Hamid and his brother Abusouz.

" When you send people to jail, you're really sending them to finishing school."

William Bratton, Mayor Rudy Giuliani's police commissioner between 1994 and 1996.

Well you have to go to go to settings in Blogger and turn on Archiving. Then in your template you need to place a this code which will make your perma-links time stamps. This is the code used here at 53:
< a href="http://53.blogspot.com/?/< $BlogItemArchiveFileName$ >#< $BlogItemNumber$ >" title="Permanent Link" > < $BlogItemDateTime$ >< /font >< /a >
If you want you can put anything as the perma link, on Jaded they are the turtles at the end of my posts. More info is here.

Mike, you're not the first to ask about Perma links - I have no idea how to create them - is it easy? My comments field is just a bunch of code I slapped in there from some dude who created a little piece of comments software. For those of you I've fooled into thinking I know how to build web pages, you're sadly mistaken. Most of my designs are stolen. The only thing proprietary to me is my writing........

Who was with me when we went to that school playground with the basketball hoops and there was an outline of the United States? Remember when I made that really long shot from "Hawaii?" That was cool.

I love how Jeff has perma links to his comments but not to his posts.

And there seems to be something wrong with your comments Jeff. (Then again I am doing this at work and the problem might just lie in the crazy server and Firewall that Fisher College has set up.) After Posting I get a "Can't Access Server" page, which makes me think that my comment hasn't posted so I go back and repost and get the same error page and then find out to my horror, yes to my utter horror, that I have posted my comment twice.

Oh the humanity.

Well since I can't link to the post, which is September 29th, 2003, and September has yet to be archived for some other ungodly reason (I mean you bought a house and all that but one would think you could still find the time to have archives or do you not have an attic?), I will now, without permission, reprint some of that post and then post the stupid comment that I wrote about it.

Here we go:

Jeff:
"The thing is, who really knows how much of my money actually goes to MADD? That's the, uh, maddening part. I never know if any charitable contribution is actually going to the charity. I gave quite a bit of money to the Red Cross for September 11th, but who knows? I think I should receive a specific, itemized list of what my donation was used for. That would be quite interesting, wouldn't it? For example, maybe my donation paid for a night's stay at a hospital for one of the victims. Oh well."

Mike's Comment embelished a little more:
"Thank you for your donation to < fill in charity here >. We like to let you know where your money went so that you can feel like you are making a difference in this crazy fucked up world we live in. So here is a breakdown of the $100 you so gratefully donated to us.

"Itemized Report of your $100 donation:

"$95 goes towards the salaries of the people who compile this report.

"$4 goes to transportation costs of the

"$1 in rice you have bought for a starving child in < fill in country here >

"Thank You for your donation."

I have been working. Attempting to keep Fisher College from self-imploding.

"...and if you have any more problems I'm Jonathan, this is Mike and that is our department Gorilla," says Jonathan G. the second of the two Jonathans in the department of Information Services, he has been saying that to the students on a regular basis lately. Unfortunately we do not currently have a "Department Gorilla" (TM) we have sent in a purchase request but the burgher's office hasn't gotten back to us. We need one to distract the students and faculty from the mess that is the school's infrastructure.

So as you can see I am at least at home in this asylum, and serve an average of 11 hours within its walls.

Ann, I will be in New York this weekend but I will be at My sister Mary's engagement party on the Island. Thanks for the info packet, though, anyway.

my friends got scared, thinking of you watching them... try again! http://home.planet.nl/~medja000/Valeria_Birthday_Party/
